lately

lately, i've been on. the. go.  

but i've been trying extra hard to slow down and enjoy the small joys of spring before they're long gone. 

one of my favorites is sitting on a sunny patio with my main man.

my mom is in the wedding business, and this weekend's wedding has a candy buffet so we have TONS of candy in our house.  major test of will power!  but i love these colors. and jelly belly's bring back so many memories of my brother when we were growing up. 

These sweet flowers are springing up all over our garden!  I really love seeing their color after a dull winter.

i'm shopping for wedding invitations!!!  not exactly an enjoyment. but i love looking at all of the different fonts and i love paper. weird? maybe... 

friday letters

dear spring break, thanks for showing up finally!  i wish you could stick around longer (long enough to actually warm up) but i guess i should get this semester over with, huh?
speaking of the semester...
dear school, i'm so tired of you and your shenanigans.
dear family, i love you. i'm so thankful for the time we had together this week. playing on the beach, and our annual easter egg hunt were the highlights of the trip. oh, and taco night.  it's always a highlight. the next time we'll be all together is for my wedding!!! eek!
dear derriere, sorry about the road tripping that happened this week.  i wish you would stop falling asleep though.  thats just weird.
dear Pop's resturant, your fried pickles. are. da. bomb. which brings me to...
dear working out, it's just you and me now, pal.  no exceptions.   i've got a wedding dress to wear this summer!
dear exam.... i'm going to kick your little tush this next week. just wait and see!

soaking up the sun

well.... i've been a little behind the 8 ball with wedding plans lately... thank you, nursing school.  

finally, we found a weekend to meet up with our wedding photographer to do a little engagement session :)  it was a gorgeous winter day in annapolis, and the only day with sun in about a week.  we were so blessed with the weather!  here are some of my favorites:

this video makes my heart melt into a puddle.
let me tell you, nothing makes trevin happier than a perfect fall day spent on a river with a fly rod in his hands, and a cigar in his mouth.  this video, sans cigar, completely captures trevin in his element. plus it was shot in the peak of our maryland fall explosion.
so i may be a tiny bit biased since the main character is my soon to be hubby, and the creator, brian, is a dear friend of ours. but really, the video. wowzers.
and getting that furry thing growing on trevin's face in real time action? priceless. if you didn't get the hint boat load of sarcasm. go back and re read that.

brian also took our engagement photos, annnd is creating our save-the-dates for our wedding.  i can't wait to see how they turn out!
i guess what i'm trying to say is...
we are so blessed to have such talented friends.

i mustache you a question.

ok, not really, but i couldn't think of a better title for this post because--- 

it's about mustaches!  

i was reading over at tippee canoe and stumbled across a post of hers about movember.  now, i've always heard about (and experienced) no shave november.  but movember?! never.  

i like it a lot more than no shave november, because rather than men just having excuses of growing things on their faces all for the sake of the month of the year, or just to keep their faces warm, they are raising awareness for mens health.  

(and lets face it girlies, who needs an excuse not to shave in the winter?!)

with my experience in nursing school, some of men's health issues are silent in the body, until it's too late.  so, movember raises awareness for those health issues.

a showering.

this past weekend I threw a bridal shower for my best girlfriend, lauren.
for the past 2 months i've been trying to figure out how to do this whole bridesmaid thing.
coordinating all of the other bridesmaids, moms, aunts, and all of the other shenanigans that comes with a wedding. man!  talk about being fed to the wolves.  I guess I've got to start somewhere!  this is just the first of many weddings to come.
we had wooden spoons for guests to write their marriage advice on, wedding vow mad-libs (which were hilarious!!) and had a contest for making toilet paper wedding dresses.

boyfriend's birthday.

this past weekend was a crazy one!  friday-sunday was spend celebrating boyfriend's birthday, and his best friend's birthday too.  there was lots of manliness, whipped-cream faces, cake, home-made  pasta, roof-top bars, rain, birthday kisses(only for boyfriend, not best friend) bloody mary's, brunching, driving, and lots of time spent with my absolute favorite people.  here's some of the (many) pictures!

My weekend

This weekend was the first taste of fall in Maryland.  I love it!  I love the chilly weather, and the warm sun, the cozy nights and yummy fall foods.  This weekend was cold and rainy though.  Not the best of fall in my book.  But I spent the morning working on an Interpersonal Relations paper then left to spend the rest of the day with some great friends...  We had a lazy afternoon watching college football, the girls looked at wedding magazines (my favorite!)  and then we took a road trip to D.C. to the famed Ben's Chili Bowl.  Anyone been there??

It was a fun late-night road trip!  The food wasn't as great as we thought it would be, and the loud, push around, DC atmosphere was frustrating! (P.s. They only take cash)  I'm sure if you know what you want it is a more smooth process. We had a good time though, and it was a great little adventure.
