Post Christmas post.

Hello all!

Well, I am still not a dedicated blogger yet, but my posts are slowly but surely getting closer together... One of my New Year's goals is to blog 2-3 times a week.  We'll see how that goes!

How was your Christmas?

Mine was great.  Extremely busy, and hectic, with lots of family, food and laughter.  I wouldn't want it any other way!  Trevin and I were in 4 different places over 2 days trying to see all of our families.  I'm so glad we were able to squeeze it all in.  Unfortunately we were so busy that I didn't even break out my camera!
The day AFTER Christmas, I worked while Trevin and the other men in his family headed to Western MD to the cabin!  (That sounds worse than it was... work wasn't terrible)  and on Tuesday, I headed up to the cabin with the ladies! We had a wonderful, relaxing, do-nothing week in that snowy little cabin :) mmmm! What I would give to be back cuddled up in-front of that fire with my book... and my guy :)  I'm so thankful for the restful week after such a hectic one!  Now we're relaxed and ready to ring in the New Year!!

Hope you spend this New Year's Eve with friends and family, and be safe!!

and I'll leave you with this sweet little thing...

My weekend

This weekend was the first taste of fall in Maryland.  I love it!  I love the chilly weather, and the warm sun, the cozy nights and yummy fall foods.  This weekend was cold and rainy though.  Not the best of fall in my book.  But I spent the morning working on an Interpersonal Relations paper then left to spend the rest of the day with some great friends...  We had a lazy afternoon watching college football, the girls looked at wedding magazines (my favorite!)  and then we took a road trip to D.C. to the famed Ben's Chili Bowl.  Anyone been there??
packed like sardines on our way to Ben's

It was a fun late-night road trip!  The food wasn't as great as we thought it would be, and the loud, push around, DC atmosphere was frustrating! (P.s. They only take cash)  I'm sure if you know what you want it is a more smooth process. We had a good time though, and it was a great little adventure.

What did you do this weekend?

aaaand we're off!

Dear Maine,

I have waited all summer for this day.  I am still struggling to pack my bags, and we leave in just a few short hours, but oh, Maine, you are SO worth it!! You are so good to me.  You give me time alone with God in his beautiful creation, and you give me coveted time with my man, Trevin, and his family.  I am so thankful for restful/lazy days in your clean crisp air!
We look forward to more beautiful days, chilly nights, games, and lots, and lots of memories! Get ready, because we're coming!!!  We leave tomorrow at 6 am!

love,

Clancy

Tonight I enjoyed catching up with an old friend.  We met when we were in 5th grade at Pioneer Girls, a christian Girl Scouts held at my church and became instant best friends... I loved spending the weekends at her house because she had lots of brothers and sisters running around.  I even looked like them.  We loved it when people would ask if we were sisters. We would share a glance, usually giggle, and let them believe we actually were sisters.
We were obsessed with country music together, especially Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.  We even made our own music videos to our favorite songs.
Over the years we've grown apart, grown up, gone to school, and have grown together again.   Nothing is better than sitting across the table from this girl sharing a plate of sushi and catching up on our changing grown-up lives.
Love you Dee!

catching up.

well, I have some major catching up to do.  Since I didn't finish my India update, here is the link to my pictures!  I'll let them do the story telling...
and...
This summer has been a whirlwind of catching up with distant friends, working, working, doctors visits for nursing school, working, getting nervous about nursing school, and spending time with family.  I know if I try to catch up on everything this summer, it would be a novel, so I'll just pick up with life, right now!

Summer 2010, Maine
I've loved the busyness of life this summer, yet days of lounging by a pool with a good book, seem like a story that I read about somewhere.  I am so looking forward to going to Maine with Trevin and his family again!  I'm creating my book list, (including review Anatomy & Physiology material), packing my sunscreen, and counting down the days of lounging all day by the lake! (only 9 more days!!)
The whole gang!
Picking Maine blueberries... mmm :)

Also happening in 9 days: my mentor, and close friend is moving with her husband and precious son across the Atlantic to a Muslim country to follow God's call to make disciples of all nations.  I don't think the physical separation has hit me yet, but as I anticipate the days until my vacation, I can't imagine her anticipation!  I will miss our early morning Starbucks meetings, and the fun times we've shared, but I'm looking forward to what God will do through  their obedience!  Love you guys and will miss you so very much!
